Back to Velen
As you’re getting ready to leave the mysterious ruins from the Wandering in the Dark quest Keira will ask you to help find her Magic Lamp. You can either leave or help her with the quest.
Assuming you go with her you’ll be in a room with sealed doors. Use your Witcher senses to find an inscription written on the door. It reads:
“Four guardians, four flames, standing proud in a line. The First to light his fire dared not march on the end. The Second, by the First, played a woeful lament. The Third kept close to his faithful beast. The Fourth marched not beside the First, yet like the Second, played a tune. And thus they stood o’er their queen, who slept beneath flickering stars.”
This riddle gives you the order in which to light the braziers by the statues. If you get the order wrong all the braziers will go out and you’ll need to fight 4 Wraiths before attempting the riddle again.
The correct order to light the braziers, ordered from left to right when facing the sealed door, is 3rd statue, 2nd statue, 4th statue and 1st statue.
Enter through the door to the laboratory and as you approach the shrine a cut-scene will play out and Keira will find the Magic Lamp.
You can end the quest here or continue searching by climbing up a few stone ledges. You’ll find a Place of Power and a Golem. Once you’ve defeated the Golem cast Aard on the door to find another secret area.
Once you’re done exploring the ruins and return to the surface Keira will ask you to come and visit her sometime. This leads on to An Invitation from Keira Metz quest.
