Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available for early access. While the full game isn’t being released until December 2016 the publishers, Larian Studios, have made the first act of the game available for download which includes about 10 hours of gameplay.
The game has not had its final polish so there may be some bugs or glitches during the game. There’ll also be more features and various improvements made over the next couple of months.
So what’s Divinity: Original Sin 2 all about? If you haven’t played the previous incarnations of the game I’ll get you up to speed. You play the game either solo or with up to three other friends and are the wielder of a magic that has been forbidden in the land.
The gods are dead and the world is ruled by an authoritarian order that wants to “cure” magic users of their disease. The game features turn-based tactical combat. There are four races to choose from, each with their own unique racial skills, Dwarf, Elf, Human, Lizard and Undead.
Original Sin 2 is an open world where you can explore and interact with objects, animals and other NPCs. There are hidden locations that may unlock hours of extra gameplay. It also features a PvP area where you can test your skills against a challenger. Pick a team and go head-to-head, using all the abilities and skills available to you, depending on race and class.
Early reviewers of Divinity: Original Sin 2 say that they love the second game even better than the first. Character development is much deeper than in the original game and the storyline is darker. There’s improved graphics, character creation and user interface.
It’s a beautiful game already and it will only get better with the final release. Even if you haven’t played Divinity before, Original Sin 2 is a good choice. As long as you don’t mind waiting a few months for the rest of the content.
