Back to Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible lair

This level is a little different from the others. You need to find the 5 Gems to unlock the device that’s holding the Beettalion. The gems aren’t too hard to find but it will involve exploring the whole level. You start basically in the middle.

Gems to the Left

We’ll start by going to the left and drop down into the first hole. Dive into the water and make your way down to the bottom. Break the box blocking the secret passage to the right for Coin #1.

Swim up to the Laylee Bell and then down into the water on the right. Make your way around to the purple door. Smash the glass so you can grab the first Gem and then go through the green door.

From the start head to the left and dive under the waterwheel. Make your way around to the green door. Don’t go through it yet. Bounce up to the area above where you’ll find a Blue Quill. Touch it and then pick up all the Quills to reveal Coin #2.

Drop down and go through the green door. Dive into the water and swim your way through the boxes to the second Gem.

Go through the green door to be taken back to the start of the level.

Once more head to the left and this time ride the waterwheel up. Get off at the top and run past the crushers. Go through the purple door, past the spikes and drop down. At the bottom you’ll find the third Gem.

Take the green door back to the start.

Gems to the Right

Head to the right and dive into the water. Swim down and then across to the left in between the large sawblades. Before you go through the green door jump into the small alcove to the right for Coin #3.

Go through the green door and then roll through the purple door. Make your way across the seesaw platforms and use the last one to roll and jump up to Coin #4.

Roll through the purple door to the next Gem and then go through the green door to the start of the level.

There’s just one more gem so go to the right and use the seesaw to get up to the grass ledge on the right. Continue along the passage to the right and climb up the rope to the green door.

Head to the left and grab the Blue Quills and all the Quills for some Fruit. Slam down through the trapdoor to the bottom. Use the Fruit to kill the enemy and touch the Blue Quill. Grab all the Quills in time for Coin #5.

Go through the green door to be taken back to a previous area. Make your way up and use the cannon to be shot up to the vines.

Slide down to the bottom where you’ll find the fifth Gem.

Drop down and go through the green door. Go to the statue to unlock the Beettalion and break it for a bee called Chrisbee.
