Back to Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Mouldwood Depths

The entrance to Mouldwood Depths will be closed until you make your way through the Silent Woods and find Ku. After that the Moki will be waiting for you here, ready to let you in when you enter the cavern.

Drop down the chasm and use the feather to float all the way to the bottom. Just past a couple of spiders you can pull out the tentacles with the blue light at the end. Jump on top of the second one and then up to a secret with Gorlek Ore.

Straight across to the right you’ll find the first Firefly. Break the glowing egg and follow the Firefly down. If you get caught out in the darkness you’ll be quickly killed.

Follow the Firefly down and to the left to the first Keystone. Break the next glowing egg and follow the Firefly back to the right.

The door is up and to the right but you’ll need the second Keystone first. Take the lower path to the right and quickly dash between the glowing plants.

The purple bugs also provide enough light to protect you from the darkness. Once you drop down further follow them back to the left for the second Keystone.

Release the Firefly and follow it back up to the door. Use the Keystones to open the door and go through to the next area.

The path to the right is too dark for the moment so you need to make your way above and destroy the infection to release some light through the gaps.

Pull out the tentacles with the blue lights to make your way up and around. Destroy the Mosquito nest and then the first infection. Dash through the gap in the thorns and break the second infection. This should provide enough light for you to make it past the dark area below.

Head back to the keystone door and this time take the path to the right. Dash across the darkness and take out the next Mosquito nest. Just ahead you’ll come to an intersection with a chasm leading down and a bounce pad leading up.

Jump across the chasm and use the bounce pad to bounce around the thorns and continue to the right. Quickly dash from glowing plant to glowing plant and continue around to the right and then up to the Spirit Well. Save the game and take a breather here.

Release the Firefly up on the wall to the left and follow it down the dark chasm that you jumped over earlier. It will take you a long way down to another keystone door.

Break the egg and follow the Firefly to the right and up to the first Keystone. Break the egg on the ledge to the right of the dangling web and follow the Firefly across to the ledge on the left for the second Keystone. The Firefly will then lead you back to the door.

Use the keystones to open the door and go through. Break the egg and follow the Firefly down and to the left. Float down past the thorns and then across to the right. Use the bounce pad to bounce up to the start of the Spirit Trial.

From here make your way along the cavern to the right by dashing across the glowing flowers. When you get to the lighter area use the Light Burst to dash upwards. You should see a Firefly egg nearby.

Break the egg and follow the Firefly across the thorns to the right. Continue to follow it around and it will eventually take you to the Spirit Tree where you can learn the Flash ability. this provides an aura of light that not only fends off the darkness but damages nearby enemies.

Head back the way you came and drop down the first hole. Follow the passage down and around to the right to find Lupo. He’ll sell you a map of the area for 125 Spirit Light.

You’ve probably explored around half of this area already. In a cavern down to the left you’ll find the Spirit Surge shard. This increases the damage you do the more Spirit Light you have.

From here you can head all the way to the west, grabbing the Life Cell Fragment along the way. Check the map for its location.

Head to the left through a secret wall. You’ll find a Moki who’ll give you some Mouldwood Silk for the Lantern. The Silk can be giving to the fishing Moki in Luma Pools.

Drop into the dirty water to the left and swim down and around to the right for an Energy Cell Fragment. Swim back down and over to the left. In a center room of the pool you’ll find a Lever. Pull it to open the hatch to the right.

Swim around and climb up through the hatch to the battle arena. Once you defeat all the enemies you’ll be given a Shard Slot Upgrade.

When you’re done break the wall to the right and use the map to head back up to the Spirit Well. From here make your way to the right and grab the Life Cell Fragment from the ledge above where you picked up the two Keystones.

Continue to the down, to the right, up and then all the way back to the left until you find the Mysterious Seed. You do need to come in from this seed but you can break the wall to the left to open up a shortcut.

Once you have the seed head back to the right and up. Once you reach the top break the barrier to the left to open up the shortcut back to the well. You may want to head back to the well to restore your energy and health before the next boss battle.

Make your way to the right for a battle with a rather creepy enemy, a giant spider called Mora. Once again the Spirit Arc seems to work pretty well.

Stay off the floor when she stomps down for her flame wall attack and deflect back any fireballs she shoots your way. About half way through the battle there’ll be a short chase scene.

Make your way up through the passage to the next battle arena. When Mora is down to about 1/4 of her health the lights will go dark. Either use the Flash ability or stay by one of the light flowers that are dangling down.

Once she’s been defeated the corruption will leave her body and the next Wisp will be freed. She will light up the Mouldwood Depths so you’ll no longer need to use the Flash ability.

When you’re done pick up any collectibles that you may have missed and give the Spirit Trial a go if you want.

With the new Flash ability you’ll be able to explore the cave in the Wellspring Glades. You’ll also be able to use the Swim Dash and Burrow abilities from Luma Pools and Windswept Wastes to reach a few more collectibles dotted around the place. When you are ready continue on to the Windtorn Ruins.
