The notice for this contract will be posted on the Downwarren’s notice board. You can also start the quest by talking to the peat digger or by stumbling across the mysterious fog in Crookback Bog. This quest will only appear after you’re given the Eye of Nehaleni from Keira Metz in the Wandering in the Dark quest.

Head out into the swamp and talk to Leslava bout the beast. You can haggle over the price or just accept the contract. A search area will appear on your map to the east.

Kill the Drowners and then search the area to find a body. Geralt will comment that there appears to be an illusion here. Use the Eye of Nehaleni on the rocks to remove the illusion and reveal a set of tracks.

Follow the tracks back to a hut where you’ll find another body and some blood. Geralt will determine that the monster is a Foglet. This one is called Ignis Fatuus.

Make your way to the area marked on the map and begin looking around the south east area of the yellow search area. Use your witcher senses to discover an illusion. You’ll be able to use the Eye of Nehaleni to remove the illusions and find a cave entrance.

Head inside the cave and depending on which entrance you used you may need to fight an ordinary Foglet along the way. Continue deeper into the cave until the fight with Ignis Fatuus begins.

Foglets are susceptible to the Quen sign, Necrophage Oil and Moon Dust. Always make sure you have the Quen shield active because Ignis Fatuus can appear beside you in the blink of an eye.

If you get into trouble run outside of the foggy area as Ignis will only stay within the fog. He summons other Foglets but these can be killed with a single strike.

Once you’ve defeated the Foglet loot his body for the Foglet Trohpy. Head back to the peat digger to complete the quest. If you haggled with him over the price he’ll claim that he doesn’t have the money. You can demand to take what he has now or agree to his request to wait a week and he’ll pay you double.
