Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, like The Witcher, is set after the events of the Witcher novels on which the games are based. It follows immediately from the first game after the attempt on King Foltest’s life. Geralt must track down a Witcher assassin known as the Kingslayer.

Witcher 2 is supposed to be less linear than the first game with multiple plot lines that can be followed. It features a significant upgrade to the graphics and better combat mechanics. As events unfold Geralt will remember some significant events from his past.

Some familiar characters return for Witcher 2, including Triss Merigold, Dandelion, Zoltan and Vernon Roche. Once again Geralt will be forced to choose sides and the story will be very different depending on the alliances you make during the game.
